The presence of gaps can alter the operating environment. Air or impurities entering the reactor ac seal can cause corrosion, oxidation, and thermal expansion deviations, thus affecting internal temperature control and pressure stability. If the sealing surface is not properly cleaned, uneven surface contact will result in localized stress concentration.

During routine maintenance, operators should inspect the sealing surface before opening the vfd reactor cover or removing the seal. If the surface shows signs of wear, scratches, slight deformation, or residue, it is recommended to first implement an appropriate cleaning procedure. After cleaning, the cover should be quickly replaced and reset to the specified torque to restore the consistency of the sealing contact surface.
