The Static Transfer Switch (STS) is a device that automatically transfers power supply from one source to another in the event of a power failure, voltage sag, or other electrical anomalies. It operates by monitoring the power supply from two independent power sources, typically the main power supply and a backup generator or uninterruptible power supply (UPS). When the STS detects a fault or failure in the main power supply, it will automatically switch the power source to the backup supply, ensuring continuity of power supply to critical equipment.
