There Are Two Main Reasons Why The Power Factor Detected By The Power Factor Correction Device Is Low.
There are two main reasons for the low power factor detected by power factor improvement device. The first reason is phase shift: when there is a phase difference between the voltage and current waveforms in a circuit, usually caused by reactive components such as inductors or capacitors, the current lags behind or leads the voltage, causing a decrease in the ratio of apparent power to active power. The second reason is distortion: nonlinear loads such as rectifiers, switching power supplies, or frequency converters can introduce harmonic currents, causing the current waveform to deviate from the ideal sine wave, resulting in a decrease in the power factor.
