The Principle And Application Of Harmonic Filters In Low-frequency Harmonic Control
Low-frequency harmonics, being integer multiples of the fundamental frequency, typically induce the superposition of harmonic currents and voltages, increasing the system's total harmonic distortion (THD). The design of harmonic filtration is based on the characteristics of the actual harmonic spectrum, such as tuning for lower harmonics like the 3rd and 5th harmonics, so that the impedance corresponding to these frequencies is greatly reduced.
The harmonic filtering equipment operates similarly to traditional frequency selection techniques. By constructing a resonant circuit that matches the unwanted frequency components, these frequency components are shunted and regulated when passing through the active harmonic filter cost. The low-frequency harmonic energy remaining in the system is dispersed to the filter branch, reducing its energy in the main circuit.
