Necessary Situations For Dry-type Transformer Maintenance
During dry type cast resin operation, some behaviors will not fade on their own, but rather indicate that the internal structure or insulation condition may have deviated from the design standard. If staff observe these conditions during routine inspections, they will need to carry out planned maintenance work on dry type electrical transformers.
When the dry type isolation transformer shows obvious signs of overheating, such as discoloration of the coil or insulation surface, smoke smell, or abnormally high measured temperature, these thermal anomalies are often related to aging of the winding insulation or partial short circuit, which is a signal that requires maintenance. Similarly, abnormal noise or increased vibration during operation suggests possible mechanical loosening or electrical faults.
Dust and debris accumulating in ventilation paths and on the coil surface can obstruct airflow and increase thermal stress. If dust accumulation persists after cleaning or the dust layer is thicker than normal, the internal insulation condition and protective measures should be checked; in this case, scheduled maintenance is a reasonable choice.
