The Function Of An Ac Reactor

Publish Time: Author: Site Editor Visit: 0

In the simplest terms, anything that provides impedance in a circuit is called a ac output reactor. The ac reactor for inverter used in power grids is essentially an air-core coil without magnetic materials. It can be arranged in three assembly forms: vertical, horizontal, and triangular, as needed. When a short circuit occurs in the power system, a very large short-circuit current is generated. Without limitation, it is very difficult to maintain the dynamic and thermal stability of electrical equipment. Therefore, to meet the breaking capacity requirements of certain circuit breakers, a electrical line reactor is often connected in series at the outgoing circuit breaker to increase the short-circuit impedance and limit the short-circuit current.

inverter ac reactor generally comes in three-phase and single-phase versions. The functions of reactor ac are:

Reducing main power supply harmonics, surges, and peak currents;
Improving low-frequency conducted interference immunity;
Protecting the power electronic components of the drive mechanism;
Improving the power factor;
Preventing tripping caused by voltage spikes from the main power supply.
