Dry-type Transformers: Lightweight Design
Transformers are often perceived as large, heavy, and difficult to move. However, the air cooled transformer dry type transformer, through its structural design and material selection, significantly breaks this stereotype. Compared to traditional oil-immersed transformers, the air insulated dry type eliminates the oil tank and cooling oil, resulting in a more compact size and a significantly lighter overall weight.
For smaller power ratings, such as the 10kVA air insulated dry type transformer, the weight may be only around 100 to 300 kilograms. This weight typically allows for handling and installation using a small forklift or a few workers.
The lightweight design of the cast coil dry type transformer offers benefits beyond just easier transportation. Lower weight means reduced load-bearing requirements on the foundation, floor, or installation platform, which is especially important in space-constrained indoor power distribution systems. At the same time, lighter equipment also shortens installation time, reduces labor costs, and improves construction efficiency.
