Why Do The Insulating Bushings Of Constant Voltage Transformers Need To Be Properly Protected?
For bushing 3 phase constant voltage transformer, its high and low voltage windings are isolated from the outside world through insulating bushings. If the bushing cracks or is damaged, its insulation performance may deteriorate over time.
Bushings made of ceramic or composite materials not only provide electrical insulation but also serve functions such as lead wire exit and external wiring protection. Because the bushing is located at the interface between the oil tank and the air environment, if external humidity, moisture enters the cracks, or surface contamination occurs, it may cause the insulating oil to absorb moisture, weakening the bushing's strength under voltage.
For bushing constant voltage transformer for home, during long-term operation, temperature changes, external moisture, and voltage stress all put the bushing material to the test. Neglecting the protection of the insulating bushing will increase the risk of breakdown due to crack propagation, moisture penetration, and contamination accumulation.
