Cooling Method Of Dry-type Transformer

The cooling methods of Dry Type Transformer are mainly divided into natural air cooling (AN) and forced air cooling (AF).

Natural air cooling (AN): In this cooling method, the dry-type transformer relies on natural convection to dissipate heat without the need for additional power equipment. This method is suitable for occasions with light loads, low ambient temperatures and good heat dissipation conditions. Under natural air cooling, the transformer can operate continuously at rated capacity for a long time with stable capacity.

Forced air cooling (AF): When the dry-type transformer needs to withstand a large load or high ambient temperature, forced air cooling can be used. This method uses power equipment such as fans to force air flow to improve heat dissipation efficiency. When forced air cooling is used, the output capacity of the transformer can be increased by 50%, which is very suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency situations.
