Avoid Damaging The Insulation When Overhauling Constant Voltage Transformers
Pre-Maintenance Preparation and Inspection
Before maintenance, conduct a detailed inspection of the main insulation, inter-turn insulation, lead insulation, and bushing condition of the 3 phase constant voltage transformer winding. Pay particular attention to confirming the bushing's integrity, absence of cracks, tightness of the seal, and absence of internal moisture or oil intrusion. If aging, cracks, deformation, or contamination is found, it must be replaced or repaired immediately. Simultaneously, test the oil quantity and quality of the constant voltage transformer for home oil to rule out any degradation in insulation performance caused by oil deterioration or insufficient oil quantity.
During Maintenance—Strict Operation and Gentle Handling
When lifting the core, disassembling, or moving the winding, use specialized lifting tools or protective devices to avoid impacting the coils or bushings with excessive force. Handle lead and bushing connections gently, avoiding violent shaking or pulling. Keep the work area clean and dry to prevent foreign objects from scratching the insulation surface. Thoroughly check the bushing top cap, sealing ring, and sealing gasket; testing or energizing can only proceed after a tight seal is achieved.
