Analysis Of The Reasons For Color Change Caused By Silica Gel Adsorption In An Alternating Current Reactor
After adsorbing a certain amount of water or polar molecules, the color of silica gel filler gradually changes from its original light color to a darker shade, providing a direct clue to physicochemical changes. Silica gel itself is a highly porous material composed of silicon dioxide, with numerous micron-sized pores on its surface, enabling it to capture polar molecules from the surrounding gas or liquid phases through surface adsorption.
During the internal operation of vfd reactor, the silica gel comes into contact with gaseous or liquid media, and the adsorption process of molecules on the surface of the silica gel changes its surface electronic environment and the filling state within the pores. For indicator silica gel, this adsorption triggers microscopic coordination changes in the chemical composition of the indicator, resulting in a visible color change. For example, a common blue indicator gradually turns pink after adsorbing water, while an orange indicator transitions to green.
